Founded in August 1992 by Tommy Smith, a kidney transplant recipient, GTF is focused on providing financial, educational, and emotional assistance during a time that is often overwhelming for those undergoing or waiting for a transplant.

By donating her kidney to me in 2002, my cousin, Pam, gave me an extension on my life. I was fortunate enough to have health insurance, but not everyone has the same chance. GTF helps those less fortunate with transplant-related expenses and the funds raised offer others that same chance that I was able to have.
