The mission of GTF is to bridge the gap between hope and opportunity H1

The mission of the Georgia Transplant Foundation is to bridge the gap between hope and opportunity by educating and enriching the lives of those affected by organ transplant.

Getting the diagnosis of organ failure— heart, kidney, liver, lung, or pancreas— is challenging enough. But having to manage the financial responsibilities and day-to-day complexities that come along with receiving an organ transplant can be overwhelming. The uncertainty and stress are unlike anything most of us will ever face in our lifetimes.

The true story of transplantation is one of lifelong vigilance, daily medication, and dependable systems of emotional and financial support H2

The Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) is unique in the national transplant community. Fundada en agosto de 1992 por Tommy Smith, a kidney transplant recipient, GTF is focused on providing both financial and educational assistance during a time that is often overwhelming for those undergoing or waiting for a transplant. Today, Georgia Transplant Foundation is the primary source for transplant patient assistance and support for all solid organ transplantation in the entire state of Georgia.

The Foundation Board GTF has evolved beyond its roots to become a full-service organization H3

The board includes dedicated professionals from the five Georgia transplant centers and statewide organ recovery agency, community business leaders, transplant recipients and volunteers working together to improve the quality of life for those affected by transplantation. GTF is a 501(c)(3) organization funded through the generosity of foundations like the Carlos and Marguerite Mason Trust, corporations and individuals.

All funds raised go to support Georgia residents who are transplant candidates, recipients, living donors or their families.

More than 85 cents on every dollar directly supports client services, including H4:

  • Information
  • Social services
  • Support groups
  • Financial planning
  • Short-term financial assistance
As more people receive organ transplants, the more people need our help H5/H6

As the only organization providing critical, non-medical assistance in the state of Georgia, GTF relies on the financial support of benefactors who want to help transplant patients and their families focus on healing, health and positive outcomes.
