Transplant Trailblazer: Howell Graham
Georgia Transplant Foundation’s Mentor Project invites you to a special Zoom meeting with Howell Graham. Howell is a former cystic fibrosis patient who is currently the longest surviving double lung transplant recipient in United States history. His was also the first double lung transplant performed in the Southeast U.S. This October, Howell will be celebrating the 30 year anniversary of his transplant. His story has been featured in multiple media outlets, such as NPR, and he has an upcoming feature in Nature Magazine. Howell is dedicated to doing all he can to inspire others and will share his unique experience in a time when double lung transplantation was still experimental. He will also give us key insights into his amazing longevity.
